Our purpose and scope

Our coverage includes everyday care, nutrition, behaviour, training, breeds, habitats and life with pets. We write for readers making decisions about their companions, with attention to Indian homes, climate and daily routines. Animal wellbeing, responsible care and clear explanations guide our coverage.

Publisher and authors

FolkTails is owned and operated by Etaya Innovations Private Limited. Each article identifies its author in the byline. Our contributors include Ravi Teja and S Vejay Anand. Copyright in article content belongs to its respective author. Company ownership of the publication does not transfer ownership of an author’s writing.

Accuracy and sources

Our editorial standard is to present information clearly, distinguish established facts from opinion and avoid unsupported claims. Sources should be relevant to the subject and reliable for the claim being made. For health and safety information, preferred sources include veterinary institutions, peer-reviewed research and recognised animal-welfare organisations. For rules and requirements, official authorities and service providers are the primary sources. References and external links, where included, help readers explore the information in context.

Health information and professional advice

Health and care articles provide general education. They do not establish a diagnosis, prescribe treatment or replace a veterinarian’s assessment of an individual animal. An author byline does not imply veterinary qualifications or clinical endorsement. Consult a qualified veterinarian about symptoms, medication, diet changes or treatment. If an animal may be in immediate danger, seek veterinary help promptly.

Animal welfare and responsible language

We support humane care, responsible pet ownership and respect for the needs of each species. Content should avoid sensational claims, guaranteed outcomes and language that encourages harmful handling or neglect. Individual animals vary; breed descriptions and general guidance should not be treated as predictions about every pet.

Editorial independence and commercial interests

Editorial coverage should serve readers and the wellbeing of their pets. Advertising, sponsorships, affiliate relationships or other material commercial interests must be clearly disclosed wherever they apply. Paid placements must be recognisable as such. A product mention or external link alone is not a claim of independent testing, professional endorsement or a commercial partnership.

Publication dates and updates

Publication dates appear with articles. An updated date, when shown, identifies a revision to that article. Advice and external requirements can change, especially for travel, products and services. Readers should check the current guidance of the relevant authority, provider or veterinarian before acting on time-sensitive information.

Corrections and reader concerns

Readers can report factual errors, safety concerns, missing attribution or other editorial issues through Etaya’s contact page. Mention “FolkTails editorial” and provide the article URL, the passage concerned and any supporting evidence. We assess reports on their merits and make appropriate corrections, clarifications or removals. Substantive corrections should be identified in the article so readers can understand what changed. Minor spelling or formatting changes may be made without a separate correction notice.

Photography and illustrations

Photographs and illustrations support the subject of an article. They do not establish that a pictured animal has the condition described, demonstrate a treatment result or imply endorsement by the person pictured. Pexels photographs carry photographer credits and links to the original work. Illustrations are identified separately on our Photography credits page. Third-party visual material remains subject to its creators’ rights and applicable licences.

Originality, attribution and permissions

Writing must respect the intellectual property of authors and other rights holders. Sources and quoted material should be credited appropriately. Sharing a link to an article is welcome; reproducing or adapting protected material requires the relevant permission unless permitted by law. See our Terms and Conditions for reuse and copyright enquiries.
